Massage is a safe and reliable method for pain relief. However, it would be wrong to perceive this therapy as an all - purpose cure, since it is not universally applicable. For example, do not massage pregnat women or anyone who is either very infirm or extremely nervous. Avoid massaging a woman’s lower back and hips during menstruation and do not apply massage immediately after someone has been treated with acupuncture or a hot compress.
